Why Guests Come Back

Puerto Galera has plenty of places to sleep.
Riverside is a place to actually stay.

Macrina's Kitchen

Breakfast is cooked fresh every morning — banana pancakes, local specialities, fresh pastries. It is included free on some rates and available to pay for on arrival on others, so check the rate you are booking. Vegan, vegetarian, halal and gluten-free options are prepared on request, and dinner at one long communal table is the reason most guests extend their booking.

Four Minutes to the Sand

Aninuan Beach is 200 metres away and stays calm and uncrowded. Talipanan Beach is a seven-minute walk, and White Beach — with its bars, shops and dive centres — is 1.2 km down the road by foot or tricycle.

A Real Filipino Welcome

Staff scored 9.7 out of 10 across 106 reviews. Macrina responds to every message within an hour, arranges island hopping, waterfall trips and dive courses, and has been known to organise a surprise cake without being asked twice.

Space to Yourself Too

Shared lounge, terrace, garden and gym are open to all guests — but the rooms lock, the WiFi works, and nobody will mind if you want a quiet evening.

Food

Dinner Is at One Table

Macrina trained her kitchen across nine years of hosting and a stint living in Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Breakfast is a buffet of local dishes, fresh pastries, eggs and fruit, with American and Asian options and special diet menus on request — included free on some rates, payable on arrival on others, depending on the booking type you choose.

Dinner is optional, themed, and communal. Guests sit down together most evenings, which is how a Belarusian traveller, two Italians and a solo backpacker from the Netherlands all end up trading stories over the same plate of adobo. Cooking classes and local food tours can be arranged with a day's notice.

What 400+ Guests Have Said

Macrina and Leigh made me feel at home from day one… the food is amazing, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the conversations with great music made every visit special.

Alejandro · England · Airbnb

Special thank you to mommy Macrina for being the best host, for always cooking good food… I really enjoyed dinners here bc of the conversations we had.

Erika · Airbnb

The place was incredibly clean and well-maintained… just a quick 2–5 minute walk and you're already enjoying the sea breeze… Talipanan Falls — a hidden gem just a short 10–15 minute trail hike away.

Jhoter Jone · Airbnb

We booked at around 11pm, and surprised that Miss Macrina accepted our booking and waited until we arrived… She is the best host we ever met here in Airbnb.

Melissa · United Arab Emirates · Airbnb

I love how it's so close to a quiet beach, away from the crowds… it genuinely feels like being part of her family. The place looks exactly as shown in the pictures.

Cathy · Philippines · Airbnb

The place is literally a home away from home, your typical Filipino home. The host and the staff is everything you could wish for… We got our money's worth and more.

It depends on the rate you book. Some booking types include breakfast free; on others it is available to pay for at the property.
